Point Cloud Heritage

A heritage survey puzzle: set laser scanners in a dark old building and scan every wall with as few as you can, until the point cloud condenses into the whole building.

How to play

  1. Tap the floor to set down a scanner. Its head turns once and every wall it can see lights up as points, from the floor up.
  2. Walls block the laser. An inner wall has two faces, so scan both sides; doorways are gaps in a wall.
  3. Hold and drag a scanner and the floor shows what it can see; it scans again when you let go. Tap a scanner to pick it up.
  4. Scan every wall face (100% coverage) to finish. Use the fewest scanners for three stars, one more for two.
  5. Each chapter adds a rule from real surveying: pillars block, scanners have a range, walls hit at a shallow angle aren't measured, and every station must see another station's target.
